The Sociedad Universitaria (University Society for Scientific Research) is a non-lucrative entity with social and academic purposes, which promotes not only the scientific investigation but also its divulgation, on those disciplines addressing border objects of study.
Its origin is set in 2012, when two investigation groups which were associated to different Spanish universities, signed up an agreement to develop investigational projects in the same field: scientific fundaments about parapsychological phenomenon and experiences.
The united cooperation of both groups allowed the development of new academic plans, which facilitated the consolidation of the Investigation Committee in the Ramón Llull University Student Council, as well as the PSILAB-BCN scientific association. Likewise, two other groups and university departments (“PSI Investigaciones”, Alma Consulting Psychological Centre) were incorporated, resulting in the University Society legislative formalisation. Since then, the entity emerged from these collaborations, The University Society for Scientific Research, intends to continue delving in the shared research areas, pull together and encourage the researcher exchange among the different groups and international organisations in the same domain, just as other bordering disciplines.
The learned society is formed by different experts, both university and professional, representing a long academic career formalized in different disciplines: psychology, biology and anthropology, thereby constituting a multidisciplinary team. The complexity of the border phenomena requires a multisite academic preparation, as well as a comprehensive symbiosis between the different co-workers and/or society members. Thanks to its altruistic contribution based on the commitment and professionalism, this project has been possible and also consolidated in the field of research that addresses.
